Learning Solutions Increase Operational Effectiveness

A unique cross-functional group of stakeholders and subject matter experts attempt to solve a performance problem by proposing and designing a learning solution - a series of 5 "how to" videos that are each 8 minutes long to explain how teams work together. Upon consultation of learning & performance expert, I was able to recommend and create a seamless microlearning experience, increasing engagement and effectivesness.

With over 2 billion daily active users across Facebook and Instagram, it is necessary for Meta to remain up to date on events and activities across the globe. This can pose an unique problem when it comes to the communication and launch of new products and polices. One example of a problem comes from how products and policies go from inception to launch and how many teams need to come together to make that happen.

Through a Performance Needs Analysis conducted it was determined that stakeholders don't fully understand the operational processes and levers in place to effectiveness launch a new policy in a timely manner.

Since video was determined as the best solution by the stakeholder working group, 5 long form video scripts had been written, with a prototype created of a subject matter expert speaking directly into the laptop camera while seated at a workspace.

Through a rapid Performance Needs Analysis, it was determine exactly where in the operational processes internal and external stakeholders were experiencing gaps or incorrectly completing processes, slowing down the speed to launch. With the goal of creating quick, engaging short form videos, I was able to re-write existing scrips into a shorter format and effectively create a storytelling scenario of how to effectively work with the multiple teams within the organization.

Results: Learner engagement and completion increased to 90% vs the prototype. The speed to launch decreased from 3 weeks to 1 week, increasing the speed to market business metric.
